REDEFINE IS THE THEME FOR EMC WORLD
2014
Speakers – Joe Tucci and David Goulden
REDEFINE was theme picked for a reason. The opening keynote was abundant with how EMC
is redefining themselves to be more relevant to customers and more relevant for
the third platform of IT – mobile, cloud, social, and big data.
The new buzzword coming from this conference is the 3rd
platform and what it means. The 3rd
platform is redefining every business by the applications sets they create,
build or modify. The new applications
will also REDEFINE storage and that is where the release of ViPR 2.0 and the
Elastic Cloud Storage appliance.
Another item to point out is the $1 Million XtremeIO Challenge. If anyone in the real world can “The first
customer to demonstrate that their XtremIO system inline data services have
switched off, been throttled back, post-processed, or deprioritized (even for
one moment) gets one million bucks.”
